This is Addy — the reluctant ballerina. To quote her mama’s blog:
“Right before our class was to go on stage, Addy looked up at me (I am the teacher) and said: ‘I don’t like this, it is itchy, and I want to play soccer.’”
So, a halfhearted dancer, she may be. But isn’t she gorgeous? You won’t find me donning my girl models in tutus often, but Addy brought her own…and I’m so glad she did! We did this mini (well, micro) session before her final recital in my home studio. Check back often because summer mini sessions are coming soon. They are a great (and budget friendly) opportunity to capture some simple portraits of your little ones.
Thanks for making my afternoon miss Addy — I hope you stop by in your soccer garb next time![]()

Stephanie – Great to see you’re in the Hampton Roads area. Looking forward seeing the details on the mini sessions!
Love your pictures… as always, you do great work!
How adorable…the essense of Addy is truely captured…and the story just completes the pictures!! Not only a great photographer…but a great subject!!! xoxo
forgot to mention that I agree with her about the soccer.
That is so Addy! What great pictures. Would love to have all 11 grandchildren done with my 85 year old mother.
Thank you for bringing to life for me my Niece’s child. I have never met or even seen Addy as I live up North and she is in the South. She is a beautiful child and reminds me alot of her Mama at the same age. I think she has the same personality also. Lol More Tomboy than Ballerina.
what a doll! i love the story, too. great shots!
the second shot is my favorite! she is beautiful!
She was the prettiest ballerina out there! The pictures are beautiful! Good job Stephanie.
