Ninety-nine (virginia family portraits)

“I asked her what she planned to do with her life
& she said she was way beyond that point already.
I’m just happy I remember to be there when it happens, she said.
— life plan, the storypeople

What a blessing it was to be invited to photograph four generations of this family. J. turned 99 this year…and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered for a photo shoot. She has led such an incredible life and still has stories to tell. She is surrounded by laughter and love…and I was honored to be able to capture a glimpse of it.

To the M. family — thank you for having me, for accommodating my crazy requests, for just being you despite a camera nearby, and for sharing a wonderful day with me. Enjoy this sneak preview–your gallery is coming soon.
