new year. new happy. new life.

i’ve been terribly behind on blogging lately. partially because of the holiday madness and our travels, and also because i’ve been thinking about the direction in which i want to take the blog. 2008 promises to be a year of change for me (and my family) … and there is plenty of positive change in store for lifeography as well. this week, i’ll be posting about some fresh opportunities ahead, and in weeks to come, i’ll share more about the ways that photography has influenced my life and how it can affect yours. meanwhile, i hope you enjoy these images from our family outing to a nearby beach. winter is magical in it’s own way on the seashore.

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and

milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles; and

may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea.
